Ford had a long and successful career as a heavy-metal performer after the band split in 1979. Ford began to take vocal lessons. Her first solo release was 'Dancing On The Edge'. Ford went off the scene for a few years following both albums failing to make it into the charts. The singer returned with her smashing success album, 'Lita' which was released in 1988. The track "Kiss My Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were huge hit songs. Unfortunately, she did not last long and was absent from the charts for a number of years. In 1995, she released her debut album 'Black,' and 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. The most recent album "Time Capsule," released in the year 2016. Her name was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award by the Guitar Player Magazine.
